Description

The quintessential Menorcan drink, Gin Xoriguer!

Xoriguer Distilleries produces what is probably the oldest gin in the Mediterranean. They craft it traditionally based on a recipe from the early 1700s and in copper stills over 250 years old, a unique feature that has earned it the recognition as a Geographical Indication ‘Gin de Mahón’.

Known internationally, the alcoholic beverage Gin Xoriguer is a product of Menorca.

It is present in every home on the island and at all their parties and celebrations. Popularly known as “ginet” in the western part or “pomada” in the eastern part, it is a combination of lemonade with Gin Xoriguer. It is currently marketed in countries such as Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, Australia, Mexico, and New Zealand.

The unmistakable Xoriguer bottle, with the handle on the neck and its green and brown colour. Colours that evoke the island. Xoriguer is transparent and clear, with body and differentiated by the essential oils of the juniper berry. An aroma with hints of juniper, green wood, and herbs and a long and light finish, with a soft hint of black pepper.

Discover its curious history, its entire production process with its attractive and characteristic bottling and, of course, taste the house speciality, either with a “ginet” or “pomada” for the cautious, or with a “saliveta” for the brave.
