The Museum of Menorca is the former Franciscan convent of Jesus from the 15th century, although the current construction dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is also the most important museum institution on the island.

The Museum’s collection is made up of pieces from the collections of the former museum and from archaeological excavations carried out in recent years, as well as from deposits and donations from private individuals and various entities.

Through its collection of more than 200,000 objects, we can take a journey through the history of the island, from prehistoric times to the present day. It is the centre of reference in the dissemination of Menorca’s heritage and cultural landscape and has promoted an important research task, mainly focused on the island’s prehistory.
