S’Albufera des Grau: Ornithology paradise in Menorca!

The Albufera des Grau is a 70-hectare lagoon and one of the most peculiar ecosystems on the island. It is up to 3 metres deep and is home to populations of aquatic plants such as the Ruppia cirrhosa or the Potamogeton pectinatus which, together with some fish populations, make it a place to stay and rest for a multitude of aquatic birds, such as the common coot (Fulica atra) or the osprey (Pandion haliaetus).

• The best time to see waterfowl is from October to February. In Spring and Autumn, you can watch the migrating birds.
