Sa Torre d’en Galmés is one of the most important archaeological sites in Menorca. Built in the Bronze Age and located in a unique enclave, this fascinating place invites you to walk in the footsteps of ancient civilisations inhabiting the island thousands of years ago.

It is the largest settlement on Menorca with an area of 66,240 m2. Its location, on top of a hill, makes it extremely suitable for maintaining territorial control over a large part of the south coast of the island. Chronologically, it lasted from the Naviform period (1700-1400 BC), of which a hypogeum has been preserved near the water collection area, until the late Roman period, although remains from the Islamic period (12th century AD) have also been found.

It consists of a public area, where the three talayots (1000-700 BC) are located at the top of the hill and the taula enclosure next to the central talayot, dating from the post-Talayotic period (650-123 BC). The capital of the latter was reused as a tomb in the Late Roman or Medieval period. During archaeological excavations in 1974, an Egyptian bronze figure of the god Imhotep was discovered, which can be seen in the Museum of Menorca along with other ritual objects from the enclosure. The trade of this figure is dated to the 4th-3rd century BC.
